Meet Neil Sutherland, Founder

With nearly 30 years’ experience in financial services, Neil founded Sutherland IFA in 2013.

Working from home, Neil is married and has two children, both recently graduated from university.

He lives with his wife and two cocker spaniels in Whiteparish, Wiltshire on the edge of the New Forest.

Neil was born in Singapore and spent the first twenty years growing up there, as well as in Brunei, Hongkong, Malaysia, the Philippine Islands, Australia and Yorkshire; since then, he has lived, worked and raised a family in London and Wiltshire.

In his leisure time, Neil can be found walking the dogs in the forest and nearby beaches, reading, studying slowly for an Open University History degree, cooking, especially Indian and Asian food and BBQing, and mucking around in boats on the Solent when not generally socialising and watching sport particularly rugby, cricket and football.

He is also the author of ‘Exterminating Poverty’, his first book published in conjunction with his brother Mark in August 2020; it tells the true story of the eugenic plan to get rid of the poor in British society during the early 20th Century and his grandfather Halliday Sutherland, a Scottish doctor who fought against it.
